Over 70 U10 girls gathered amid glorious sunshine on Saturday, July 2nd, to take part in a Go-Games end of season blitz in Moorefield. Moorefield  Ladies GFC would like to thank Robert Emmetts, Eadestown, Milltown and Two Mile House for travelling and making the day a great success. Every girl in a jersey got approximately 80 minutes of football over the two hours and I would like to assure one and all that Ladies Football in Kildare is alive and kicking. The girls showed excellent skill and determination throughout and they are a credit to their clubs, mentors and parents who turned up in force to support.  They are the stars of the future and each girl went home with a smile on their face, although this could also be attributed to the goodie bag that they all received for their efforts.  We would like to thank all our helpers on the day, but a few need to be named as it would not have run as smoothly without them: our referees – Aisling Curley, Ciara Conaty and Éadaoin Cummins, our mixed team helpers – Laura Hannon, Emma Curley and Michelle Curley, and our ‘refreshments co-ordinator’  – Bernie Cummins. Also a big thank you to Moorefield’s mentor Catherine Conaty.
